Every day, a 70-year-old retiree bought 40 kilograms of meat from her butcher. One day, he decided to follow her, and when he discovered where all that meat was disappearing to, he immediately called the police.

The short, frail, and slightly hunched retiree entered the same butcher’s shop every day. She wore an old coat and pulled a worn-out cart with squeaky wheels that creaked with every move.

“As always, forty kilos of beef,” she said softly, extending a hand with banknotes carefully folded into a stack.

The butcher — a young man — was always surprised. Forty kilos! Almost half a carcass. At first, he thought maybe the woman had to feed a large family. But week after week, it was always the same.

The woman barely spoke, didn’t make eye contact, took the packages, and left. A strange, sharp odor lingered around her — a mix of iron, raw meat, and something else the butcher couldn’t quite identify.
The rumors quickly spread through the market. Vendors whispered:

– She’s supposedly feeding her son’s family.
– Or the dogs.
– Maybe she’s running some illegal business…

The butcher didn’t believe the rumors, but his curiosity grew with each passing day. One evening, he decided to follow her: he waited until she left the store and then trailed her from a distance.

The woman walked slowly but with a determined pace, dragging the heavy cart through the snowy road. She passed the outskirts of the city, went by the abandoned garages, and headed toward the old factory — the one that had been closed for ten years.

THE BUTCHER STOPPED. THE WOMAN ENTERED THE BUILDING AND VANISHED ALONG WITH THE PACKAGES.

Twenty minutes later, he saw her coming out — empty-handed. There was no trace of the meat.

The next day, the scene repeated itself. On the third day, the butcher couldn’t take it anymore. He waited until the woman disappeared inside, then quietly followed her in.

Inside the factory, there was a strange smell. He could hear muffled, unsettling sounds. When the butcher peeked through a crack in the wall, his heart jumped into his throat. Inside, there were… 😱😱
Behind large bars sat four massive lions. Their eyes gleamed in the dim light of the lamp. On the floor lay bones and fresh pieces of beef.

And in the corner, on an old chair, sat the same elderly woman, gently whispering:

“Calm down, my dears… soon you’ll have your fight… people will come to watch you…”
The butcher stepped back in horror, but one of the lions suddenly roared, and the sound echoed throughout the hall. The woman turned around and saw him.

“What are you doing here?!” she hissed.

The man fled outside and immediately called the police.

When the officers arrived, they were in shock: the woman was a former zoologist. After the zoo closed, she had taken a few animals to “save them,” but soon realized she could profit from them.

At the back of the factory, they found an arena and claw marks on the walls. The woman was organizing illegal lion fights, secretly watched by wealthy spectators.
