Every night I woke up with a strange feeling that someone was watching us. Our cat would sit beside the bed, staring at us without blinking, and the scene began to truly terrify me 😨
Finally, I decided to install a camera in the bedroom to see exactly what was happening at night while we slept. When I watched the footage the next day, I was gripped by genuine fear 😱😲
Our cat had always slept in our bedroom, on her bed placed by the wall. She was calm, intelligent, and had never caused any trouble. At night she hardly moved, so I didn’t notice at first that her behavior was changing.
During the day, everything seemed normal: she ate, slept, came over for affection. But at night, she acted completely differently, as if she had stopped sleeping altogether. Sometimes I would wake in the middle of the night with a strange sense of being watched. I’d open my eyes and see the cat. She would be sitting right next to my pillow, staring at us without moving. In the dim light, it looked truly eerie.
At first, I tried to ignore it, but these nights were happening more and more often. Eventually, I began to feel uneasy and decided to take the cat to the veterinarian.
“Maybe she’s stressed or just bored,” the doctor said after the check-up. “Health-wise, everything is fine. Just observe her behavior. Perhaps something is bothering her.”
But how do you observe a cat at night when you’re asleep yourself? I had no choice, so I installed an infrared camera in the bedroom, aimed directly at our bed.
The next morning I sat down to watch the footage. At first, I froze in shock, and then I couldn’t believe my eyes. The reason the cat had been staring at us so intensely was completely different from what I had imagined.
She wasn’t looking at me — her gaze was fixed entirely on my husband. And the reason behind it was truly shocking 😱😲
IT WAS CLEAR ON THE FOOTAGE: AS SOON AS WE FELL ASLEEP, THE CAT JUMPED ON THE BED AND SAT BESIDE US.
The footage clearly showed that the moment we fell asleep, the cat would jump onto the bed and sit beside us. She wasn’t interested in me — her eyes were focused solely on my husband the entire time. She could sit like that for almost an hour, completely still.
Then the most fascinating part began. As soon as my husband started snoring, the cat would calmly reach out a paw toward his face, place it gently over his mouth, and hold it there until the snoring stopped.
Once the room fell silent again, she would quietly get up, return to her bed… and fall asleep peacefully.
I nearly fell off my chair laughing. It turned out that the poor cat was simply bothered by my husband’s snoring. Instead of patiently enduring it, she had devised her own method to restore the quiet.
NOW WE KNOW: IT’S NOT THE CAMERA THAT KEEPS ORDER IN OUR BEDROOM AT NIGHT — IT’S THE CAT.
Now we know: at night in our bedroom, it isn’t the camera keeping watch — it’s the cat.
