Anna was the head chef at one of the most famous restaurants in the city. She was highly respected, and people liked and admired her for her kindness and talent.
When she found out she was pregnant, her happiness knew no bounds — after years of waiting, the miracle had finally happened. However, her husband, a wealthy businessman, reacted completely differently.
“We weren’t planning for a child,” he said with irritation. “I have problems at the company right now.”
“But this child is a gift,” Anna replied gently. “We have to accept it and love it.”
He didn’t respond. But from that day on, everything changed — he became cold, distant, almost a stranger. He increasingly disappeared from home, stopped caring about his wife’s health, and it seemed like he was just waiting for her to disappear from his life.
Months passed. Anna continued working in the kitchen, trying not to think about the sadness. Her coworkers often told her that she was working too much, but she just smiled:
“I feel good when I work. You are like my family.”
One evening, when the restaurant had already closed and everyone had gone home, Anna changed and was getting ready to leave. Suddenly, her husband appeared in the doorway.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?” she asked, surprised.
“Nothing,” he replied with a forced smile. “I just wanted to drive my pregnant wife home.”
Anna felt joy. For the first time in many months, he mentioned the child. Her heart skipped a beat — maybe everything would be okay after all? She didn’t notice that his hands were trembling slightly, and his gaze nervously wandered around the room.
“Have all the staff gone?” he asked calmly.
“Yes, I’m here alone. Why do you ask?”
“Just wondering,” he muttered and suddenly shoved her with all his strength into the large freezer, slamming the heavy door shut behind her.
Anna fell to the floor and began screaming:
“What are you doing?! Let me out! Please!”
“You’ll spend the night here,” he said coldly. “I hope we never see each other again.”
Inside, the cold was almost unbearable. Anna shivered, screamed for help, begged, but no one could hear her. The shock brought on contractions. She collapsed on the floor, clutching her stomach and trying to hold onto what little warmth she had left.
Her husband calmly walked away, convinced that by morning everything would look like an unfortunate accident. No one would suspect anything — after all, the freezer was often used by the staff.
What he didn’t know… was that his life was about to fall apart. 😱😱
At the security post, a young guard noticed something disturbing: according to the list, someone was still in the building. He went to check and saw a silhouette in the freezer. He immediately ran to the door, opened it — and saw a woman lying on the floor, semi-conscious. He immediately called for an ambulance.
Anna was rushed to the hospital just in time. Due to the shock, she experienced a premature birth — but the baby survived. In the hospital room, when she regained consciousness, Anna told the police everything.
Her husband was arrested straight from work. During the interrogation, he confessed:
“I had debts. I was hoping to inherit my wife’s house and money. I didn’t think it would go this far…”
He is now serving a prison sentence, while Anna holds her son in her arms every evening, looks into his eyes, and quietly whispers:
“I survived because of you. Because of you.”
