After yet another complaint from a patient, the head doctor called her into his office.
— From now on, you will work only as a ward assistant and take care of washing the patients.
— But why are you treating me like this? — the nurse tried to protest.
— Patients keep complaining that you sit with your phone in your hand all the time and stare at the screen.
— Yes, but I have a sick daughter, and I need to know what is happening with her.
— I do not care about that. Either you do what I tell you, or you can hand in your resignation.
The nurse was forced to agree. On the very first day, she was told to go to the room of a young man and bathe him in the tub.
THE PATIENT WAS COMPLETELY PARALYZED — HE COULD MOVE ONLY HIS NECK AND EYES. FOR YEARS, HE HAD NOT MOVED THE REST OF HIS BODY.
She entered the room, looked at him, and with the help of an orderly, with enormous difficulty, moved him to the bathroom. She filled the tub with water, checked the temperature, added a little wash liquid, and began to wash him gently. Silence filled the room; only the sound of the water and his calm breathing could be heard.
But suddenly, the nurse saw something that literally froze her with fear 😱😨

The young man — the same one who had been unable to move for years — suddenly grabbed her by the thigh.
— Good Lord! — she screamed, jerking back sharply. — What are you doing?!
For a moment, she thought the patient had behaved inappropriately, but a second later she froze, remembering that he was paralyzed from the neck down.
— DID YOU TOUCH ME? — SHE ASKED IN A TREMBLING VOICE.
— No… — he whispered softly. — I didn’t do anything…
— But you just grabbed me!
— I can’t… I don’t feel anything…
Terrified, the nurse immediately called the doctor. A few minutes later, the head doctor rushed into the bathroom. He examined the patient, touched his hand, and suddenly shouted:
— This is impossible! I was sure all the nerves were dead!
After a moment, he looked at the woman.
— YOU ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED ON THE ULNAR NERVE. IT WAS A REFLEX! THAT MEANS THERE IS A CHANCE HE CAN REGAIN HIS MOBILITY!
The nurse stood motionless, unable to believe what she had just seen. The doctor added quietly:
— You have just saved his life. If we begin rehabilitation immediately, he has a chance to return to a normal life.
The woman covered her mouth with her hand, and her eyes filled with tears. That day, for the first time, she understood that even an ordinary touch could become a true miracle.
